It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our most beloved Blakely Rose Beck. On November 20th, tragedy struck when this magnetic, happy and bright little girl accidentally drowned in the bathtub while experiencing her first-ever seizure. Life-saving efforts led her to being placed on a ventilator and airlifted to Cook Children’s Hospital and on Nov 25th, her heart, liver, and kidneys were a miracle to those children that were awaiting a transplant.
All babies are special, but there is something about Blakely that is exceptional. Just like all the Disney princesses she repeatedly watched, read, and stories she acted out – her personality is magical. It is nearly impossible to not be completely sucked into her charm. From wanting to be kissed awake by her mom in the mornings like Sleeping Beauty to saying the funniest things – she was the real-life embodiment of a Disney princess.
Blakely loves books. She was always making negotiations to get read just “one more story”, and on the most tender and rare occasions, her parents would quietly catch her ‘reading’ stories to herself. Her favorites were all books about princesses and “Goodnight Dragon”.
Blakley is brave and confident. Whether it was jumping into seemingly bottomless foam pits in gymnastics, diving into swimming pools from tall heights, unlocking doors with her toy butter knife, or being willing to invite new friends into her circle, she acted with such positive determination in herself and her abilities.
Blakely is a friend and makes everyone feel as loved as she is. Her gaggle of church friends especially held a special place in her heart, forming bonds that exemplified the pure connections of childhood. Despite her brief time, Blakely’s impact was immense, leaving an unforgettable legacy of love and laughter.
Lastly, Blakely is loved and missed with such fierceness by all who have been within her sphere of influence. This world needed Blakely Rose as the bright light she is, but God needed her more. There is none that replace or fill her space but her family is grateful that through her, other children received a second chance at life.
